Richfield MN USA has similar at traffic circles: ramps guide bikes up onto the sidewalk, to cross outside the circle with pedestrians.

Ramps can be plowed-in and icy. The tight right angle turns are hard to navigate.

Also, after our drivers enter a traffic circle, they seem unable to slow/stop if there is a pedestrian blocking their exit (fear of being rear-ended?).

I find it safer to merge into the car lane and take the traffic circle with cars; or (better) avoid the whole thing.
